This is the masterpiece in progress. My first self-designed work, this bag began as a way to use up some random balls of wool yarn. Of course, I ended up buying more yarn to finish the bag, but hey. I used the same stitch pattern as on the tweed clutches. It's a seamless bag made from
this potholder pattern my mom found. I should get the handles finished this morning.

Stitch detail. I just got The Encyclopedia of Crochet in which I learned how to do the spike stitch that you see here. It really adds a finishing touch.

Very nice - as all your fabulous crochet work. Liz
Just writing in to say I love both your blogs. I stumbled across them today and I happen to live in OKC as well.
I absolutely love your self made pattern. The yarn is beautiful, what kind is it?
Sorry for the delay in response. The yarn is a wool tweed that I bought at Gourmet Yarn in the Collonade Shops (www.gourmetyarn.net). I don't remember the brand, but they only have one or two brands of wool tweed. It's a bit stiff at first, but after blocking with a steam iron, it gets really soft.
