The Gambler and the Monk

Once upon a time, there was a gambler and a monk. No, really, there was a gambler at one signing table and a monk discussing How to Solve Our Human Problems in the cafe. The formerly notorious Oklahoma gambler extraordinaire Pody Poe was signing his memoir at the signing table while a Buddhist monk gave a talk on peace at the other end of the store. At the beginning of the day, I though nothing of the relationship between the two people I scheduled to sign that Saturday. Later on, however, one of my colleagues pointed out what a great book title The Gambler and the Monk would be. I vowed to write that book. I don't have any idea what the plot would be or even if there would be a gambler or a monk in the story, but I will write that book. I guess every writer has to start somewhere. Any ideas?
